Cumberland Astronomical Society
From AstronomyOutreach network
Cumberland Astronomical Society is a non-profit amateur organization, dedicated to advancing the education of its members and the general public in the subjects of astronomy and the related space and physical sciences. We aim to increase public awareness and enjoyment of these sciences through extensive public outreach programs. Our membership is diverse - we are a group of astronomy enthusiasts from all walks of life who share a common scientific interest. Some members are avid astronomy buffs, others are just starting and have never looked through a telescope. Whatever a member's experience or interests, all share a common fascination for the mysteries of our universe and a willingness to exchange and share the results of practical observational experience. Each meeting we try to have one or more speakers to help bring us up to date on different topics in astronomy. The public is welcome to attend the meetings of the Cumberland Astronomical Society.
