Dr. Sky  
Steven R. Kates, "Dr.Sky" an astronomical journalist and lecturer, has been involved in the science of Astronomy for well over 30 years. Steve "Dr.Sky", got his start in observational astronomy when he was six years old and living in the New York City area. During this period, he was a frequent visitor and student at the famous Hayden Planetarium.

During the early years, Steve "Dr.Sky" was trained as an actor and performer. He was a regular on many TV commercials and radio ad's during the 1960's. His real passion has always been the wonders of the night sky! During high school and college, Steve "Dr.Sky" was involved with producing his own radio shows on astronomy and space science. He was a regular on CNN during the early days of this network and wrote many astronomy columns for local newspapers.

Steve "Dr.Sky" formed a small company in 1982- Sky Source, Inc.; which sold telescopes and binoculars and provided lectures and tours on astronomy events. Moving west in 1987, "Dr.Sky" was introduced to the wonders of the night sky in Arizona and has remained here. He now serves as a science correspondent for some of the local radio and television stations. He is a regular on 3TV in Phoenix as well as a regular provider of astronomy content on the popular national radio program known as "Coast to Coast AM".

His newly formed multimedia company, Dr.Sky.Com, Inc. provides special content via the web at www.drsky.com, covering atstronomy, space, aviation and weather.

The company has a goal of being one of the major portals of information, e-commerce and news content on the web. "Dr.Sky" is available for public, private as well as corporate educational programs as well as a special musical production on "Hubble, Harmony and Music for the Heart".

"Dr. Sky" is working with the International Dark-Sky Association, to help share the "light" about light pollution and is active in seeking an Arizona Dark Skies Park.
